Relevant Issues
Movies are very influential pieces of work, as many people see them and draw upon what they see to make sense of their own lives. It is very important for them to represent people and groups accurately. This movie does not try to break any of the stereotypes associated with action films. The film is led by a male character, which is typical of action movies. Although he has a female who helps him along the way, she is only introduced as his love interest which complicates the idea of her being a strong female lead character. It also has a strong military presence, who were inspired by G.I. Joes and are made up of men. All of the main characters are also white. These are all problematic in a movie including aliens, because these movies allow for humans to finally be viewed as a unified species when they are faced with another intelligent species. Instead, Transformers mostly shows heterosexual white males being involved with saving the planet.
In some scenes, the transformers have been hit and spit out blood, this is very illogical as them are robots, they don’t have blood in their system. This will give children a wrong idea about robots.
Although this film can inspire the children's unlimited imagination but in reality, these are really difficult to achieve.
Stereotypes
In social psychology, a stereotype is a thought that can be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things. These thoughts or beliefs may or may not accurately reflect reality. However, this is only a fundamental psychological definition of a stereotype. Within psychology and spanning across other disciplines, there are different conceptualizations and theories of stereotyping that provide their own expanded definition. Some of these definitions share commonalities, though each one may also harbor unique aspects that may contradict the others. (wikipedia)
